Forest Beat Priority Update: July – September 2025 

 

1. Drug Dealing – Hart Drive, Measham

We’ve responded to community concerns about suspected drug activity in the Hart Drive area.

Progress 

 

• Regular patrols have been conducted to monitor the area.

• Intelligence gathering is ongoing to identify individuals involved.

2. Open Water Safety & Anti-Social Behaviour

With the summer holidays and warmer weather, we’ve focused on increasing safety around open water areas, including:

• Moira/Donisthorpe Canal

• Albert Village Lake

Progress 

 

• Increased patrols have been carried out to deter unsafe behaviour.

• Officers have engaged with young people and families to raise awareness of water-related risks.

• Safety messaging has been shared via local channels to highlight dangers such as cold-water shock and submerged hazards.

3. ASB & E-Bike Misuse – Hicks Lodge, Moira

We’ve addressed reports of anti-social behaviour involving e-bikes, which have caused damage and posed risks to visitors.

Progress 

 

• Regular patrols have been maintained in the area.

• Intelligence has been gathered to identify offenders.

• Section 59 notices have been issued where appropriate to tackle misuse and prevent further incidents.
